As an artist-scholar, memory and nostalgia, sentiment and time/space, are explored in my photography and photo-based weavings. These thematic concerns stem from a deep investment in the contributions of black diaspora ideas and praxis as foundational to disrupting anti-blackness. To this end I am interested in ideas of blackness, lines drawn around what blackness is, as both boundary and boundless location of possibility. My interest in these lines of demarcation and spaces of boundlessness are in how categories of difference form critical politic towards imagining bold modes of existence. Art as a political endeavour enables the creation of possibility in light of inequality and violence.
